Brake’s top tips for keeping children safe near roads Children under 8 should always hold a grown up’s hand when walking near roads Children under 8 should always cross roads with a grown up, at a safe crossing place Until they are 150cm tall, all children should sit in a correctly sized and fitted child seat when travelling by car Children under 10 should not cycle on roads, they should keep to cycle paths away from motorised traffic Children should always wear a helmet when cycling to protect their head if they fall off Brakes have more useful information on keeping your child safe, whether your cycling or pushing a buggy

It's like a food bank, but for baby essentials. Depending on our stock we can help out with things like baby clothes, buggies, cots, baby mattresses and consumables like nappies and wipes Help fund us Our amazing Baby Bank manager, Sarah Sarah is our Baby Bank manager and has been supporting children and families here at our charity for 13yrs. Sarah's experience, dedication and compassion means the families she works with always feel welcomed and well supported. Sarah also helps us deliver our Community Living Room project which has been a huge success. "I'm inpsired by the families I work with from day to day and their unwavering courage to keep going through challenging moments. I get great job satisfication from witnessing the transformation in children and families' lives - from just surviving to really blossoming". We work in partnership with parents to overcome their problems and make positive changes, focussing on health, income, parenting and reducing isolation. Access support Donating items We collect new and pre-loved items for children 0-5yrs for families who are in urgent need of help. We'd love to take all donatio ns but sadly can’t due to limited storage. We currently need these essentials: Nappies and ba by wipes Single and double buggies Books for under 5’s Moses baskets and new mattresses If you would like to donate any of the above items, please drop off only new or unmarked pre-loved items in good working condition (no jumble please).
